Brickwork Fireplace with Salisbury 4 Wood Burner, Bordon, Hampshire

The challenge here was to make a very small fireplace opening look a little more in proportion with the room it was in. We kept the inside of the fireplace as the original bare brickwork to keep the opening as wide as possible. The choice of bricks were a rural cottage blend – not too dissimilar from the interior of the fireplace but a much more aesthetically appealing brick & with the rustic look the customer wanted. The mantlepiece was made from a piece of beech which we danish oiled & the hearth was a lovely riven slate. The wood burner is a Chesney’s Salisbury 4 in black finish. A very nice job with another happy customer.

This stove is installed with a rear exiting flue to give a nice clean look in this newly built extension. It is often easier to make allowance for the flue when building say the roof structure than to retro fit the flue through a freshly plastered ceiling. Brick Fireplace Surround with ACR Wood Burner Alton, Hampshire

This customer wanted a traditional brick build fireplace built along with an ACR Wood Burning Stove fitted. We were able to skin the interior of the fireplace with brick slips to get the desired finish. A fireplace like this always looks best topped off with an oak mantle piece. Installation of Wood Burning Stove into Existing Decorative Brick Fireplace

This goes to show that a modern styled stove can look great paired with a traditional fireplace. As with all our installations into existing chimneys, we swept and lined the chimney and then closed the fireplace with a steel register plate. The existing hearth looked amazing already and met all the requirements set out in the building regs. The customer chose the Contura 51L cast iron wood burning stove which looked great against the traditional brick fireplace. The customer wanted to retain some of their old fashioned decorative brickwork fireplace but to give it a bit of a facelift. There was a backboiler in place which needed to be removed. We then reinstated the brickwork and rendered the inside with a stop return to give it a sharper look. Some new pieces of honed slate to finish off the hearth & a black enamelled Dovre 250 multi fuel stove. This is one of those jobs that proves anything is possible. This installation involved removing an old fireplace surround. We then lined the chimney & fitted a new riven slate hearth. The victorian fireplace surround was then mechanically fixed to the wall before plastering the chimney breast and lime rendering the interior. A traditional cast iron fireplace surround was utilised for this wood burning stove installation. The hearth is made up from antique floor tiles with a Chesney’s Salisbury 5 wood burner. The Chimney had been removed from the 1st & 2nd floors as we installed a Poujoulat TI twinwall chimney system to exterior of the building.
